BioIn May of 2007, I had just returned from my adventure. Among others I had met along the way, I had been communicating with a young man named Borko from a Dogon village, Djiguibombo. Months before, in his village, an Animist community tucked into Mali's Bandiagara Escarpment, we met only for a moment. It was enough time for him to tell me he would soon be traveling to Bamako to study in the city and would I write him to help him with his English. I scribbled my name and email on a slip of torn-off paper from my journal. Throughout this thread, he gave me an Animist name:
"AMBAGA is a good name IT means that every thing is possible for me thanks to god.
so now that want to know many things about animism you have to get animist name so I choose for you AMBAGA."
